Character Blogs

Character blogs are blogs written by roleplayers from their characters’ point-of-view, and in that characters’ style of thought and speech. I’ve enjoyed the sudden blooming of character blogs from many of my fellow alea iacta est guildmates, many of whom are also first-time RP’ers. In spite of obvious grammar and spelling errors littered throughout more than a few character blogs, they still point to the most very important item needed for RP: imagination.
Character blogs enhance a character’s entire world, much more so than can be done in game, by allowing an RP’er to thoroughly flesh out their character’s personality, background and history, and very often include many other creatures significant in the life of the character, such as family, friends, and enemies. Mannerisms and personality quirks, while maybe only briefly alluded to in game, can be better and more fully explained here. Unlike in game RP, there seems to be no limits to the degree of RP that can be placed and found within a character blog. The writer is in control of every word and action.
Due to the steadily growing number and quality of character blogs I’m finding as I read my way around the intertubes, I’d like to try to help bring them together under the same light, or at least shine a brighter light on them wherever they may be for all those interested in reading them. So, in addition to listing them along the right side of the front page here, I’m also going to list them all in a single post, which will be bumped back to the front and top of the blog posts here as each individual character blog writer updates their character’s blog with a new entry.
Of course, that means I’m asking for your help! If you are the author of a character blog listed here, or would like your character blog listed here, please leave a Comment about your new character blog or new character blog post below, and I’ll make sure to bump this post back to the top and help direct others’ attention to your new post! As the Wichdocta is fond of saying, “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.” Ya, mon!
