With the apparent demise of the MyRoleplay addon, it’s now time to take a closer look at the only other RP addon I currently know of that could be used as a replacement: FlagRSP2.
At the basic level, FlagRSP2 does essentially the same thing MyRolelpay does, but it does it in such a simple and clean manner that in no way should it be overlooked. Both addons are an excellent and quick way to help identify other RP’ers on your server, helping to knit the entire RP community closer together. However, where MRP offers a wide variety of options for character RP info, FlagRSP2 offers not as many, yet still maintains a clean and very efficient slate for character info input. And seeing that MRP has not been updated in months, and in the interim has developed a few nagging bugs which no longer look to be eradicated in the future, FlagRSP2 runs with the two characters I have it installed on without a hitch so far. Personally, I’m in the mind to be moving all my characters (save my Rogue) over to FlagRSP2 for the above reasons.
Unlike MRP, FlagRSP2 doesn’t have a deep learning curve to know how to use it to your advantage. There are only three tabbed main sections, one each for Character Options, FlagRSP2 Options, and Tooltip Options. The Character section is where players input their characters’ name (first and last), any title they may hold, and a brief Physical Description.
The Options tab is where you may set the Role Play Status, like whether to mark your character as In Character or Out Of Character, and whether you are a Beginner, Casual, or Full Time roleplayer. The overall FlagRSP2 options available include the all-important ability to Save your description, Show Character Description Pop-up, and Hide Descriptions while in combat. Simply move the slider and check the box next to your choices, and you’re ready!
The Tooltip tab is where you may set your choices for Enhanced Tooltips and Description pop-ups. These settings regulate what information you see when targeting another character running the FlagRSP2 addon, and what info you are showing about your character to other users of the addon.
All in all, FlagRSP2 is a very simple yet very effective RP addon for helping bring fellow RP’ers together and seeding potential RP fellowship and conversation. Here’s a look at what FlagRSP2 users see when passing by Wichdocta:
Notice the Troll accent there? I think that was caused by the Dwarvenizer / Trollizer addon I was also trying out at the time of the screenshot. It didn’t do that with the Eloquence addon, so, somehow, the D / T addon is able to filter the channel used to input info into FlagRSP2, at least that’s my guess. I think I’ll leave it that way, kinda liking it right now. However, if anyone knows if the D/ T addon is indeed causing this and how, I’d sure like to know!
I love you! :3

Somehow, my descriptions and titles keep getting erased..
which is rather frustrating.
’tis a rather annoying bug in FlagRSP 2, I wonder if more people have the same problem..
I too have had that problem. Seems I can’t keep any of my settings in it. Maybe there is a fix I don’t know about.
Satyrulak and Stann;
I have yet to see any one else report this or even see it happen. What version?
True, I’ve also not seen this error being reported elsewhere. You may want to duplicate what you write into the settings onto a Notepad page, and save that page someplace safe. Then, if and when FlagRSP2 erases your text again, it’s just a simple cut & paste to retrieve it.
Well I have a problem with mine, you see, it seems I clicked something to hide the icon and Now I can’t get it back visible. It’s really annoying since I can’t do anything, I tried removing the addon and then readding it, didn’t work though, and it’s only on one of my characters, but it’s my RPing char, so it’s really annoying, though I hope I don’t need to reinstall the whole game…
Hmm… maybe it’s hidden underneath another icon? Try moving any others you have floating around your minimap. Don’t think you’d have to reinstall the entire game for one little mod, so just keep looking!
ok, if you made the icon dissapear, just type “/flagrsp standby” and the icon should pop back into being.
I too have a problem with this mod. My description is cut off in mid-sentance, and so is my friend’s who uses the same addon. And for her, she can’t even SEE my descript.
[...] Archives has a really nice overview of the mod here. You can download it here. Other incarnations of this mod (like FlagRSP BC, Immersion RP, and [...]
yeah i’m having the same problem (erasing)
is there like a save button for your descriptions that I’m not seeing? >.< everytime I log out my descriptions go “poof!” and I have to start over
it erases my descriptions and titles everytime i log off
